The Eisack Valley stretches from the south of the Brenner to Bozen. It is a valley of natural beauty: sunny mountain ranges with vineyards and chestnut groves, lavish mountain meadows and Alpine grass, mountain forests and bizarre rocky towers in the Dolomites, as well as glaciers more than 9,000 feet high from the nearby Ziller Valley and Stubai mountain ranges.
A valley of mountain passes, where – for many millenniums – Mediterranean, as well as central European / Nordic cultural influences have been found. Witnesses of times gone by are the numerous old farmhouses, picturesque villages and the Eisack Valley towns of Sterzing, Brixen and Klausen, which speak of their rich historic trials and developed cultural landscape, marked by unique art effects of leading architects, painters and sculptors in all known periods.
