A winter holiday in Val Pusteria/Pustertal, more varied than ever

Skiing in the Dolomites

Skiing in the Dolomites is an absolute dream. The perfectly prepared slopes in different levels of difficulty are your stage that you are guaranteed to not want to get off so quickly. The scenery alone is fantastic! The sun-kissed slopes of the Gitschberg-Jochtal and Plan de Corones/Kronplatz ski areas are not far away from Hotel Lodenwirt and otherwise you’ve also found an ideal starting point for your varied-packed fun on the slopes in the Dolomites here in the heart of Val Pusteria/Pustertal.

Winter hiking and snowshoeing

Snow crystals glitter and sparkle in the winter sun everywhere, the fresh mountain air fills your lungs and the magical view is a feast for the eyes. Winter hiking and snowshoeing in South Tyrol has a very special charm and is highly recommended. Besides the sporty activity that is good for your body, it is also wonderfully for the soul when you hike through deserted landscapes, enjoy the peace and quiet and simply leave everyday life really far behind you. We offer you snowshoes for hire at Hotel Lodenwirt.

Cross-country skiing in Val Pusteria/Pustertal

You can use your winter holiday in Val Pusteria/Pustertal perfectly for cross-country skiing in a magical winter wonderland. You ski on perfectly groomed trails on the Alpe di Rodengo/Rodenecker Alm alpine pasture, for example, and enjoy the exceptional 360° panorama at the same time. Two wonderful trails await skaters and classic cross-country skiers in the Gitschberg-Jochtal ski region and there are other trails in the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz holiday region which could just as well serve as postcard motifs. By the way, Val Pusteria/Pustertal is situated in the middle of the Dolomiti NordicSki region that includes a fantastic 300 kilometres of trails.

Tobogganing – fun for the whole family

What would a winter holiday in Val Pusteria/Pustertal be without sledging? Grab your toboggan and have fun! You can choose between a whole range of toboggan runs and anyone who does not want to walk up to the top can also be conveniently transported to the start by lift in some places. The toboggan run on the Malga Fane/Fanes Alm in Valles/Vals is extremely romantic albeit challenging. You can also toboggan on the Alpe di Rodengo/Rodenecker Alm and the Malga Pertinger/Pertinger Alm in Terento/Terenten is a real secret tip for families. Moonlight tobogganing under starry skies is also extremely popular.

Hostess Sandra’s insider tip: “To recharge my batteries I like to hike to the Moarhofalm where I enjoy a delicious Kaiserschmarrn on the sunny terrace. The toboggan run afterwards is fantastic fun!”
