For everyone who loves pizza

Take a dough that’s left to mature for a full 72 hours, until it’s ready to bake up crisp and light on the stomach. Top it with Brimi mozzarella made from 100% South Tyrolean mountain farm milk. Deliciously simple: the classic Margherita, or the rustic yet sophisticated “G’luschtige” with porcini mushrooms and bacon. Ask for the pizza of the month if you fancy trying something completely new. We also offer pizza made with lactose-free mozzarella and wholemeal spelt dough.

For discerning meat lovers

Put yourselves in the hands of Thomas, who is both our wine sommelier and meat sommelier. He selects each special cut with a trained eye to suit exactly what you’re after. As the options change with the seasons, the cuts vary, so every visit is exciting. Tell him what you wish, and he’ll bring you the right dish (we thought we’d have a go at rhyming) – making our restaurant in the Val Pusteria/Pustertal valley one of the places where meat lovers are particularly well catered for.

For anyone who likes to raise a glass

A good glass of wine rounds off your meal perfectly. From the over 500 wines in the cellar, Thomas will find you the one that pairs best with your meal. If you wish, he’s happy to tell you more about it. And do have a look at our wine list.

For the undecided or simply curious

Every good recipe needs a pinch of creativity and curiosity. So, why not try our homemade Schlutzkrapfen ravioli with spinach and butter, tuck into a chanterelle mushroom risotto, or go for the gilthead seabream fillet with rosemary potatoes? If you’re not overly hungry, help yourself to the salad buffet. And if you’d rather leave the choice to us, we offer a surprise menu with three or four courses, accompanied by wine pairings if you wish.

For anyone with a sweet tooth and a little room in their stomach

To round off the meal, save a little room for something sweet: homemade apple strudel, tiramisu in a glass, or the Loden variation. If you’re not quite hungry enough for a big dessert, there’s always room for homemade ice cream. And we mean always.

For anyone who wants to take the flavour home with them

Finally, why not pick up a souvenir from your stay at the Lodenwirt? Our LodenSpeck bacon comes from our own pigs and tastes almost as good at home as it does here. Just ask our team.

Two hosts, two tastes in wine

When asked about her favourite wine, Sandra swears by fresh German Rieslings. Thomas finds it impossible to make up his mind; there are simply too many good wines for him to choose from. What are your favourites?

How we say “appetising” here in Val Pusteria/Pustertal. Incidentally, it’s also the name of a pizza here. So, feeling “g’luschtig yet?”
