Hotel, Residence, Restaurant: Lodenwirt

We’ll be honest: we’re right by the road. And that’s just perfect.

We can’t promise you a mountain meadow right outside your window. What we can promise you: 20 minutes to Mt Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, an easy half an hour to Brixen or Bruneck, an hour to the Three Peaks, and in the evening, the Lodenwirt Restaurant a few steps away. Plus 26 rooms in the hotel, spacious rooms in the Residence, a spa for relaxing and unwinding, and over 500 wines in the cellar.
This holiday has everything you need.
That’s a promise.

Why Lodenwirt?

Loden is a truly special fabric. It’s as much a part of South Tyrol as the sheep on the mountain pastures, it keeps you warm, it’s hard-wearing, and it has a wonderful feel. Countless individual threads weave together to create a fabric that will last a lifetime. And that’s more or less how we do things at the Lodenwirt, too: we weave together cosy nights snuggled up on mountain sheep’s wool, indulgent treats from the wood-fired oven, the tranquillity of the spa, and the many activities on offer in the mountains and the Val Pusteria/Pustertal valley to form the fabric of an extraordinary holiday. Thomas and Sandra will personally guide you through your days, while their team holds all the threads firmly in hand, turning all those good individual pieces into a holiday that will warm you from the very first minute to the very last.

From north to south, on your plate

At the Lodenwirt, South Tyrolean specialities sit side by side with Mediterranean favourites, and pizzas bake to crispy perfection in the wood-fired oven. The cellar houses over 500 wines, each with a recommendation from sommelier Thomas. The restaurant team sets the table for you at lunch and dinner, whether you’re a hotel guest or just popping in.

Between summits and streets

Of course, the Dolomites are a sensational sight. But the surrounding area has just as many treats in store: a leisurely cycle ride along the Val Pusteria/Pustertal valley cycle path, a hike across the summit plateau of Mt Plan de Corones/Kronplatz, or a dip in the cool waters of Lake Ponte di Ghiaccio/Eisbruggsee as a wonderful contrast to the heat of the sun. If you prefer inspiration to action, enjoy a stroll through the old towns of Bruneck and Brixen or immerse yourself in the world of the mountains at the Messner Mountain Museum. In winter, you swap your hiking boots for skis and carve your way down the slopes on Mt Plan de Corones/Kronplatz. So, whether you’re a keen mountaineer or a laid-back sight-seer, there’s a tour to suit everyone – and you’re guaranteed never to get bored.

The Lodenwirt packing list with a difference

Toothbrush, charging cable, the usual bits and bobs. You’ve already got the sun cream and hiking boots covered. Here’s our contribution to your list:

  • Appetite – and plenty of it. Head chef Matthias will more than take care of that.
  • Comfortable footwear for lounging about. The relaxation room at the spa is waiting to welcome you.
  • Photo storage space – and plenty of it. The Dolomites and the Val Pusteria/Pustertal valley offer more photo opportunities than your phone can handle.
  • Thirst. Sommelier Thomas has the perfect bottle in the cellar for everyone.
  • Bike helmet or ski goggles. Depending on which season you’re visiting in.
  • Anticipation. Ideally a double portion. No, make that triple.
