Gitschberg-Jochtal ski region – sunny bliss on the slopes

Sun worshippers and families love a skiing holiday in the Gitschberg-Jochtal ski region. The Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area has 51 superbly prepared kilometres of slopes at 1,300 to 2,500 metres. Two ski schools with an extensive range of courses for all ages as well as three kids parks with all-day supervision distinguish the Gitschberg-Jochtal ski area as one of Italy’s most child-friendly ski areas. The snow park with various obstacles is ideal for freestylers and snowboarders. One absolute highlight during a skiing holiday on the Gitschberg-Jochtal is the view that awaits you here: a breathtaking panorama of more than 500 snow-covered peaks tempts you to stay on the slope just a few minutes longer. However, you can also enjoy this unique alpine cinema from one of the rustic mountain huts or modern restaurants during your skiing holiday on the Gitschberg. Perhaps with a lush piece of apple cake and creamy cappuccino?

South Tyrol’s most state-of-the-art ski area, Plan de Corones/Kronplatz

The title “South Tyrol’s No. 1 ski area” is attributed to Plan de Corones/Kronplatz in Val Pusteria/Pustertal. The ultra modern ski area offers a fantastic range for beginners and pros and you are guaranteed to not get bored with roughly 120 kilometres of slopes. This is also ensured by the ski schools that have all sorts up their sleeve from private lessons to group courses for kids and experienced skiers and snowboarders. Highlights are the Black Five – five black slopes for ace skiers – the five downhill runs to the valley, the funtastic snow park and speed challenge with photos and videos of your own run. The great kids parks are a real hit with children – and if that isn’t enough variety for you there are another two ski areas to choose from that are also part of the Plan de Corones/Kronplatz region: Speikboden in Campo Tures/Sand in Taufers and Klausberg in Valle Aurina/Ahrntal. And anyone who wants to head straight from the slopes to a big night out can find numerous après ski establishments in the valley where you can really party.

Dolomiti Superski

A skiing holiday on the Gitschberg and Plan de Corones/Kronplatz is at the same time a skiing holiday in the phenomenal Dolomiti Superski area. With just one ski pass you can explore 12 ski regions in South Tyrol and beyond – for example the impressive Dolomites Three Peaks ski resort, the Plose ski area with fantastic views in Valle Isarco/Eisacktal or the Gardena/Gröden-Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm ski area in the heart of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. All the slopes are constantly superbly prepared and snow is guaranteed in the ski areas from December to April. Our tip for experienced skiers: do not miss out on the legendary Sellaronda ski circuit. You get unforgettable impressions of imposing mountain peaks and spectacular slopes in one day. The tour is an absolute dream!
